I have 8 of these in an RV. 2 installed on a pole that holds my Starlink.. Your disassembly instructions were spot on. I have a 2 LED model. I put 4 layers of black electrical tape over the surface mount LEDs and then reassembled. Works perfectly. My external IR unit lights up the area.

You don’t mention: For Option 1, removing the daughter board: can the daughterboard be put back, if I move the camera elsewhere at some point in the future? Or is removing that a permanent alteration?

In reply to George Loizou. The issue with that is the IR LEDs in these cameras are tied to the state of the IR filter (that physical clicking sound you hear when it switches to night mode). This mod allows for the camera to operate the IR filter without changing the LED state. You basically want the camera to go into "night mode", which means removing the IR filter to let in more IR light, but without the LEDs being on.

Hello guys.
As far as I know, most of the Tapo cameras have an easy option to turn off the leds when dark. I have several C100 and c110 and all have it.
As you are viewing through the camera, you will see an option in the bottom of the screen shown as “Auto”. If you press on that, you’ll get 3 options: Day, Night and Auto. In Day mode, the leds do not come on at night.

Hi, nice mod. Do you know if the tapo C110 has an ETH port in the board? I can see it in your second picture but if you could confirm this I would appreciate it.
